Jxomart and Natasxa are a duo that began singing in Esperanto in 1987 in Kazakhstan (ex-USSR). Before that date, from 1983, Jxomart sang alone at first, then with his Esperanto rock group Kredo. The duo originally comes from Kazakhstan, where they performed many concerts in various Esperanto meetings. That's where they produced their first vinyl record, Somera mondo (Summer World) in 1989 on the Soviet label Melodia. In 1991, Jxomart and Natasxa emigrated to Sweden where they produced three cassette albums and two CD's: Valso por amikoj (A Walse for Friends) (VKKD28) in 2000, and Amu min (Love Me) (VKKD65) in 2003.
This present CD, JxomArtajxoj - La rugxa albumo (The Red Album) is the first of a projected series of three. They collect the favorite songs recorded on cassette and CD, now out of stock. These versions have been rearranged and sung in a more present-day style. Most of the songs in this collection are old ones, known and appreciated by the public. Some of them have been changed along the way, because they have been singing them for twenty years! Naturally the arrangements are more modern, up-to-date, and richer than the previous versions. The recordings are purely acoustic, intending to create the same warm and intimate atmosphere encountered in their concerts.
