March 2010

Our full catalogue

Dear reader, hello !

Two monthly newsletters in less than four months ?!? .. wheeeew .. and even our latest promises kept !

After quite an adventure implementing the new download platform, we have not forgotten those good old decorative and tangible cds, still 'alive and kickin' on www.vinilkosmo.com.

As announced in December, Afrika Kompilo has actualy seen the light, and it wasn't easy, but with great pleasure that we enhance our catalog with this panorama of the best of African Esperanto music.

Also as announced, Eterne Rima demonstrates how Esperanto seems to fit into any form of expression and surprises us with a true rap album, the first of its kind, but surely enough to inspire a lineup.

A new metal-rock project that we also hope will become a promise kept, news from Jomo who plays in Afrika Kompilo and will be signing its official release during a local International Solidarity Forum, and a 'rendez-vous' for FESTO 2010 as a hint that summer will soon be here !

Metala Kompilo relaunched

In 1990 Vinilkosmo launched its first compilation project and since then the label has continued to work on a series of compilations of different styles. Vinilkosmo-Kompil Vol.1 and 2, Kolekto 2000, Esperanto Subgrunde, Elektronika Kompilo, Hiphop and kompilo Afrika Kompilo have been achieved through the active contribution of many artists, groups and collaborators from around the world.

In 2006 Vinilkosmo launched the 'Metal Kompilo', but remained dormant for 4 years by lack of contributions and quality proposals. Today the rock scene, both 'heavy' and 'metal', has considerably developed, and this encourages us to revive the project with good hope to finally succeed.

So, here's a challenge to all the 'metal' Esperanto rock bands to come forward and present an overview of their various styles. Heavy metal, death metal, trash metal, hardcore metal, melodic metal, symphonic metal, gothic metal, and everything we have forgotten, any quality proposal, sung in Esperanto of course, is of interest to us and will be considered.

We invite you to visit the site on myspace specially prepared for the occasion:

http://www.myspace.com/metalakompilo

and contact Rogen and Leandro, the art directors for the project at:

FESTO 2010 in Toulouse

Toulouse will host the very popular international Esperanto meeting, FESTO, organized annually by the French Association of Young Esperantists with EUROKKA as a partner for artistic programming.

FESTO will be held from 13th to 20th of August 2010 on the the Paul Sabatier University campus and will be a great opportunity for those who want to speak Esperanto and meet people from diverse backgrounds in a festive atmosphere, many foreign participants having already registered.

The cultural program, although still open, already promises strong moments with Martin kaj la talpoj, Dolchamar, Kaj Tiel Plu, Kajto, la Pafklik and Jomo. An Occitan evening is also planed as well as various activities such as bicycle tours along the Canal, visits through Toulouse and its region, Esperanto Occitan and Catalan courses for beginners, workshops, etc ...

A sturdy team for the oganisation was formed with members of JEFO, EKC and EUROKKA for an undoubtebly memorable 'FESTO' !.

You can register online on the following pages, but no english available :
