"The First Ones," an article by Thomas Preece.

This year, the main focus of my research into the history of Esperanto music has been "the firsts" in various categories - the first song, the first vinyl record, the first cassette, etc.
Sometimes the answers to those questions have been somewhat surprising - such as the topic of my article for this month about the earliest vinyl LP in Esperanto.
That is generally reckoned to be Ni Kantu en Esperanto from 1964 - but I actually found an earlier LP (albeit a 10-inch LP, not a 12-inch) from 1961:
Litovaj Popolaj Kantoj kaj Dancoj.
You can read more about the history of this record here!
