Labrat Nomad + angel cristian chavez are a multi-genre duo
from the Michigan, United States.
Labrat Nomad (who prefers the pronoun “he”) is a primarily electronic music producer who has been producing music for himself for 14 years, and decided to publicly release his works for the first time in 2024.
angel cristian chavez (who prefers the pronoun “they”) has been his friend for almost as long as he has been producing music.
They came together this fall of 2025 to create angel’s debut EP. Labrat’s main influences are Aphex Twin, Autechre, Four Tet, Bogdan Raczynski, Fugazi, and Beastie Boys, among others.
angel was mainly inspired in this project by musicians and groups such as CAPSULE, Perfume, Lady Gaga, Tinashe, and the Esperanto musicians i.d.c. and JoMo.
Bazilisko, the debut EP by the multi-genre duo

The EP Bazilisko contains six songs: five previously composed instrumentals, for which Angel wrote lyrics and recorded vocals, and “Bazilisko”, the new song of the same name composed and written for the EP.
The songs are lyrically inspired by surrealism and the surreal atmosphere conveyed by fantasy literature such as Alice in Wonderland.
The themes range from more everyday topics such as damaging one’s reputation due to a toxic relationship, drug-induced romance, to more fantastical stories such as transforming into a butterfly, or a shape-shifting, gender-changing basilisk wizard.
It also includes a devotional song for the Mexican folk saint, Santa Muerte.
Its musical genres range from pop, electronic, slow-beat, to shoegaze.
