Official release of IVIDUB's first digital single in Esperanto, La nep' de la sun', early July 2026.

IVIDUB, offers an authentic sound that blends modern reggae with electro-pop.

Their poetic and socially conscious lyrics realistically reflect current social issues, yet without hatred or violence, conveying a powerful message with a gentle touch.

After two albums, Même les abeilles and Babylon le voleur, and six digital single releases (from their six music videos), their third album, Un goût de liberté, was released on June 28, 2026.

A little history.

From his early days playing drums in rock bands like Starter, then synthesizers with Trista Motiv, “Ivi, the songwriter”, along with Morine (singer of Trista Motiv), was one of the pioneers of the Parisian New Wave scene. With three vinyl records that garnered attention at the time, Ivi also composed music for film and television.

Rock meets reggae, and after their first trips to Africa, they moved to the French Antilles.

Back from the tropics, Ivi & Morine settled in the foothills of the Pyrenees and formed the duo IVIDUB, which has seen several different lineups. Their first single, “Si tu les écoutes”, was produced by the Toulouse-based label Sound Juice Records. Ividub then produced their first mini-LP, also titled Si tu les écoutes, with the collaboration of sound engineer and bassist Ras Live I (Positive Roots, Tuff Lion).

In 2017, the album Babylon le voleur was recorded live by HP Barnet in the purest reggae tradition, featuring Redjee Roots on guitar, Karigan on drums, Live I on bass, and Florian on keyboards. The album was mixed by a longtime collaborator, the talented sound engineer Bruno Mylonas, who left Polygone to settle in the countryside at Studio Saint Mychel near Reggae Valley (see the song’s music video).

IVIDUB has performed around a hundred concerts in Southwest France, playing electronic music in trios, quartets, and as a full seven-piece band.

Today, accompanied by the same team of talented musicians, Ivi & Morine present a pivotal, rich, and bold album with finely crafted lyrics. It will have a diverse sound, as it includes the six singles released since their last album and six new songs recorded at home, including one sung by Morine, “Le petit fils du soleil”.

Le petit fils du soleil” was released as a single in Esperanto in collaboration with the label Vinilkosmo, titled “La nep’ de la sun’”.

The third album, Un goût de liberté, is decidedly different.

Ividub has managed to maintain its identity and style, moving seamlessly from the reggae hip-hop track “Twenty Twenty” to the rub-a-dub of “Life Beautiful”, from the electro-pop jungle of “Décodeur” to the poetic dub of “Les Algues Bleues" and the electro-funk of “Replay”..., and many more surprises await you with six new songs spanning reggae, rub-a-dub, French pop, and ska.

A truly chaotic journey! This is also the title of one of the new songs you’ll find on the album.
